Below are the test chambers from PortalZ: The First Slice. Note that the test chambers will not run properly unless you have downloaded the necessary sounds and textures. To play a test chamber: Save the BSP files to one of these locations: Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\[yourSteamUserName]\portal\portal\maps Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[yourSteamUserName]\portal\portal\maps Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/[yourSteamUserName]/portal/portal/maps In newer versions of Steam, replace [yourSteamUserName] with “common” instead of your Steam username. To run a specific map, launch Portal, open the console (you can enable the console in Options > Keyboard > Advanced) and type in "map z_demo_chamber_#" where "#" is the number of the chamber you downloaded. I have created a nice little BNS file that will allow them show up in your "Bonus Maps" list, but this is also an option if you like using the console. To make PortalZ appear on your bonus maps list (this is optional, but a good idea), you must download "zmappack.bns" and save it to one of the locations above. |
